Thank you for being a member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League!

You have lovingly dedicated yourselves to upholding the traditions and mission of our DSOL and I am honored to serve as your 2018-2019 president here in our 71st year.  We truly look forward to a year full of meaningful experiences and opportunities to work in concert with you in support of our world-class orchestra ---as well as the quality outreach programs benefiting children of all ages!  We are thrilled to welcome Kim Noltemy, President and CEO in her first season with the Dallas Symphony Association Orchestra and in anticipation of  the arrival of Fabio Luisi, Music Director Designate of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
As stated by Concertmaster of the DSO, Alexander Kerr,
“Maestro Luisi is highly respected around the world, and we are proud to welcome him to Dallas,” “He comes to us with such a rich history of opera and symphonic experience. His elegant and refined style connected beautifully in performance, and I know he will be a visionary musical leader of the DSO.”
Because of your precious gifts of time, talent and resources, we will
  • Help a young strings player achieve her dream
  • Encourage a budding concert violinist to compete for an award
  • And provide 1000s of children the opportunity to attend a concert in downtown Dallas in the Eugene McDermott Concert Hall for the very first time.
Your partnership is critical in helping achieve our mission through service, education and fundraising activities.
The season will begin with our annual Fall General Membership Meeting and Tea on October 3, 2018. Your attendance is included in your membership dues; however please remember to rsvp. Also coming up soon will be our fall Fashion Notes Luncheon, chaired by Amy Turner on Monday, October 29th in the Venetian Room of the Fairmont Hotel. Lela Rose will be presented with the inaugural Fashion Notes Designer Award with our own Dianne Etheridge and Meagan Etheridge Sells as Honorary Chairs. Gather your friends and family and fill your tables soon!
On November 15, you are in for a musical treat and community retreat! Our first very special Noteworthy Night will take place in the phenomenal residence of Mary McDermott Cook; uniquely designed to catch the wind on her hill overlooking Dallas and, of course, the McDermott bridge. Celebrating our Honorary Chairs, Fanchon and Howard Hallam, this special evening will feature a string quartet with DSO musicians presenting music by Beethoven and include catering by Cassandra and the infamous view of our Dallas Skyline.
Stay tuned for a myriad of additional opportunities and offerings in the coming spring months! I sincerely look forward to meeting each of you and invite you to engage with your league.
Warmest regards,
